About PULS

The Faculty Advisors for Teaching and Learning from the seven faculties form the Service Point for Process Guidance and Support in Teaching and Learning (PULS) at the University of Bayreuth. We support processes that further develop study quality both within the faculties and across the university. Our ultimate goal is to optimise the learning environment at the University of Bayreuth.

Within the faculties, we support the Dean of Studies with the quality assurance of teaching and learning. Using a solution-focused approach, we identify development opportunities and work on improving the student situation at all faculties. Our PULS Study Support assists students with all study-related questions providing advice and offering information events. We are also the first point of contact for lecturers and faculty staff members for all matters relating to teaching and learning.

Across the University, we encourage the exchange and networking between faculties and provide an essential contact point for all facilities and services throughout the University of Bayreuth.

PULS for Students - PULS Study Support

The PULS Study Support is your point of contact in the faculties. We offer confidential advice on all questions, problems and conflicts related to your study situation.

Advising

We are happy to offer you individualised, confidential advise on any issues, conflicts, or decisions relating to your studies. A personal discussion with us may help you to develop concrete solutions. If the issues involved are too specific, we can put you in touch with the appropriate office. Schedule an appointment!

Study skills

Our workshops and talks provide you with practical tools to overcome the challenges you'll be facing during your studies. They give you the chance to reflect on your own study habits and hone skills that are relevant to your studies and future career. They are also an excellent opportunity to network with students from other subject areas.

The quality of our study programmes

In cooperation with the Deans of Studies, the Quality Assurance service unit, and the Faculty's students and instructors, we are constantly striving to improve the quality of our programmes. When it comes to evaluating programmes and courses, your opinion is important to us. What do you think is working well? What do you think needs to be improved? We appreciate your ideas and feedback.
