Living and working in Kulmbach

Residents of the old margrave town enjoy a high standard of living and moderate rental and purchase prices in the housing market. With its historic market square, the Plassenburg, the fortress landmark of the city, the Main cycle path, various museums, and regular events, such as open air concerts and art exhibitions, Kulmbach offers a wide range of cultural and leisure activities.
Also known as the secret capital of beer, it is a "place of enjoyment" and offers a wide range of gastronomic delights beyond those of the liquid kind. In addition, there is a well-developed education, childcare, and medical system. Moreover, the surrounding countryside is rich in varied natural landscapes such as the Franconian Forest, the Fichtel Mountains, the Franken Jura and the Obermaintal Hills. Furthermore, the Margravial Opera House in Bayreuth and the old town of Bamberg are two historic sites in the region that are UNESCO World Heritage Sites. At the same time, it is not far away from major cities such as Leipzig (200 km) or Berlin (360 km) in the north, Prague (250 km) in the east, Nuremberg (110 km) and Munich (260 km) in the south and Würzburg (150 km) and Frankfurt (270 km) in the west.
